Training Outlines
Introduction
Reinforced-concrete design brings together structural mechanics, material behaviour, safety requirements and construction practice. A satisfactory calculation can still perform poorly if load paths, cracking, deflection, durability or reinforcement detailing are not considered as one integrated design problem.
This five-day course develops practical design competence for civil and structural engineers. Participants will analyse and design beams, slabs, columns, walls and foundations; check strength and serviceability; and translate calculations into constructible reinforcement details. Worked examples emphasise engineering judgement and code-based design logic rather than dependence on software alone.
