Introduction

High-rise buildings behave as tightly coupled systems. Structural form, wind response, foundations, façade movement, vertical transportation, fire strategy, MEP distribution and construction sequence continually affect one another. Decisions made within one discipline can create major consequences for safety, programme, usable floor area and lifecycle performance.

This five-day course develops an integrated understanding of high-rise design and delivery. Participants examine lateral systems, foundation interaction, core planning, building services, façades and life-safety provisions, then connect these systems to cranes, material flow, concrete pumping, temporary works and tolerance management. The emphasis is on interface risks and practical controls for coordinated construction and commissioning.
