Learn geotechnical investigation and foundation design using ground models, testing, bearing capacity, settlement and construction-risk assessment.
Training Outlines
Introduction
Foundation performance depends on the quality of the ground model and the judgement used to interpret incomplete site data. Investigation, testing, design and construction observation must be connected so that uncertainty is identified and managed throughout the project.
This five-day course equips civil, geotechnical and structural engineers to plan site investigations and develop reliable foundation solutions. Participants will select field and laboratory tests, derive design parameters, evaluate bearing capacity and settlement, and compare shallow and deep foundations. Case work also addresses groundwater, excavation risk, ground improvement and observational control.
