Training Outlines
Introduction
Pollution control requires engineers to understand sources, pathways, receptors and the performance limits of available treatment systems. Effective solutions combine reliable monitoring, mass-balance reasoning, risk-based priorities and controls that remain practical throughout the asset lifecycle.
This five-day course equips environmental, civil and operational professionals to assess and control pollution across water, air, soil and waste streams. Participants will design sampling programmes, evaluate treatment alternatives, interpret environmental data and develop integrated control strategies. Case work connects technical decisions with environmental management and project planning.
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Map pollution sources and pathways.
- Apply environmental mass balances.
- Design representative monitoring programmes.
- Evaluate water-pollution controls.
- Assess air-emission treatment options.
- Plan soil and groundwater remediation.
- Develop sustainable waste strategies.
- Build an integrated pollution-control plan.
