Training Outlines
Introduction
Urban infrastructure systems are interdependent: land use, mobility, water, drainage, energy, waste and digital services shape one another. Planning each sector separately can create stranded capacity, conflicting corridors, inequitable access and unaffordable lifecycle obligations.
This five-day course develops an integrated strategy from growth scenarios to implementable programmes. Participants forecast demand, assess capacity and service gaps, evaluate resilience, prioritize investments and examine finance, governance and stakeholder delivery. Phasing and performance metrics connect long-term vision with practical decisions.
Objectives
- Translate growth scenarios into infrastructure demand.
- Assess service levels, capacity and asset condition.
- Identify cross-sector dependencies and constraints.
- Develop resilient infrastructure options.
- Prioritize investments using value and risk.
- Evaluate funding and delivery models.
- Structure stakeholder and governance arrangements.
- Produce a phased development strategy.
