Introduction
This intensive course integrates four closely connected design disciplines: electrical power systems, substations, rotating machines and industrial control panels. Participants apply IEC, IEEE and NEC-aligned methods to calculations, equipment selection, protection, schematics, layouts, safety and multidisciplinary design verification.
Objectives
- Develop electrical design criteria, load schedules and single-line diagrams.
- Perform sizing, voltage-drop, fault-level and protection calculations.
- Configure substation arrangements and specify primary equipment.
- Select and apply motors, generators and associated starting methods.
- Design control panels, circuits, interlocks and component layouts.
- Coordinate grounding, protection, arc-flash and electrical safety measures.
- Produce coherent drawings, specifications and equipment schedules.
- Review integrated designs for compliance, constructability and operation.
