Introduction
This technical course builds practical competence in industrial-hygiene monitoring and exposure assessment. Participants design representative sampling programmes, select and calibrate instruments, measure airborne and physical agents, apply quality controls, interpret datasets and communicate defensible conclusions.
Objectives
- Define monitoring objectives and similar exposure groups.
- Select representative personal, area and task-sampling strategies.
- Choose, calibrate and use industrial-hygiene instruments.
- Measure airborne contaminants and relevant physical agents.
- Apply field blanks, chain of custody and laboratory quality controls.
- Calculate time-weighted, short-term and peak exposures.
- Interpret exposure distributions against occupational limits.
- Produce reports that guide control selection and verification.
