Introduction
Artificial intelligence can transform connected devices from passive data collectors into systems that detect anomalies, anticipate events and respond locally. IoT applications must manage noisy sensor streams, intermittent connectivity, resource-limited hardware and large device fleets. Intelligence must therefore be designed together with communications, security, energy and lifecycle requirements.
This five-day course develops practical competence in AI for IoT and smart devices. Participants will prepare sensor data, engineer temporal features, build predictive and anomaly models, design edge–cloud inference, and establish secure fleet monitoring and updates. The course focuses on realistic industrial, building, mobility and consumer-device applications.
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Design AI-enabled IoT solution architectures.
- Prepare reliable sensor and event data.
- Engineer temporal and device-health features.
- Build anomaly, classification and forecasting models.
- Select edge, cloud or hybrid inference.
- Optimise models for device constraints.
- Secure and monitor smart-device fleets.
- Develop an operational IoT-AI roadmap.
