Introduction
Artificial intelligence can improve services and decisions while also creating risks involving unfair treatment, privacy, opacity, safety and unaccountable automation. Responsible innovation requires more than publishing ethical principles: organisations need practical governance that identifies material harm, assigns ownership, challenges evidence and controls AI systems throughout their lifecycle.
This five-day course provides a rigorous framework for AI ethics, governance and responsible innovation. Participants will assess use-case risk, examine fairness and transparency, design accountability structures and integrate responsible-AI controls into development, procurement and operations. The course is suitable for leaders, risk professionals, policy specialists and technical teams responsible for trustworthy AI adoption.
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify ethical and societal risks in AI systems.
- Assess impacts on stakeholders and affected groups.
- Evaluate bias, fairness and privacy concerns.
- Define transparency and human-oversight requirements.
- Assign accountable roles across the AI lifecycle.
- Design risk-based governance and approval controls.
- Monitor incidents, drift and unintended outcomes.
- Develop a responsible-AI governance framework.
