Course Introduction
Hospitality depends on responsive service, sound commercial judgement and coordinated operations. AI creates opportunities to support these activities, but successful adoption requires clear objectives, reliable information and appropriate human involvement. This course helps managers connect AI capabilities with specific hospitality needs, test proposed applications and plan implementation around guest experience, operational feasibility and measurable performance.
Course Objectives
- Distinguish predictive AI, generative AI and routine automation in hospitality applications
- Design and evaluate AI-supported guest communication with clear human escalation
- Interpret demand forecasts and revenue recommendations using relevant hospitality measures
- Identify operational workflows where AI can support productivity and service consistency
- Assess guest feedback and marketing outputs for accuracy, relevance and bias
- Develop an AI pilot proposal with governance controls, staff responsibilities and success measures
Who Should Attend
Hotel and resort managers, hospitality operations leaders, front office and guest experience managers, revenue and commercial managers, food and beverage managers, marketing professionals, tourism business leaders and digital transformation coordinators. No programming experience is required.
Course Methodology
Short technical briefings, hotel and resort case studies, guided prompting exercises, synthetic data analysis, output-review workshops and a final pilot-design presentation. Participants compare AI outputs with source information, practise human approval and escalation decisions, and receive feedback on service quality, commercial reasoning and implementation feasibility. Exercises use simulated guest and business information.
Day One: AI Foundations and the Guest Journey
- Predictive AI, generative AI and automation: capabilities, limitations and suitable uses
- Mapping opportunities across enquiries, reservations, arrival, stay and departure
- Writing prompts with clear context, approved information and output requirements
- Checking guest-facing responses for accuracy, tone, accessibility and escalation needs
- Practical exercise: design and test an AI-supported guest enquiry workflow using simulated information
Day Two: Demand Forecasting and Revenue Decision Support
- Hospitality data sources, data quality, seasonality, booking pace and cancellations
- Interpreting occupancy, average daily rate and revenue per available room
- Comparing AI forecasts with simple baselines and assessing uncertainty and forecast error
- Reviewing pricing and inventory recommendations against commercial objectives and service commitments
- Practical exercise: analyse a simulated demand scenario and justify a revenue recommendation
Day Three: AI in Hospitality Operations and Workforce Productivity
- Coordinating housekeeping priorities, room readiness and cross-department handovers
- Supporting workload planning, staff knowledge access and training with managerial oversight
- Applying demand insights to food and beverage purchasing, inventory and waste reduction
- Evaluating maintenance and energy-management alerts alongside operational evidence

- Using permitted guest preferences and segments to develop relevant service and marketing ideas
- Creating and reviewing campaign drafts for factual accuracy, brand consistency and cultural suitability
- Measuring engagement, conversion, service recovery and the contribution of AI-supported activity
- Practical exercise: turn a synthetic feedback dataset into an improvement brief and reviewed campaign concept
Day Five: Responsible Adoption and Implementation Planning
- Protecting guest and business information through data minimisation, access controls and approved tools
- Assigning accountability for accuracy, bias, human review, escalation and incident response
- Assessing suppliers, integration needs, total costs and evidence behind benefit claims
