Tooling Expertise You Can Count On![]()
Krauss-Maffei partners with EPW to provide you with extensive Tooling Capabilities
As of November 3, 2006, Krauss-Maffei and EPW will partner to provide the polyurethane industry with the most extensive experience and expertise in foam molds and tooling available. With respect to this tooling partnership, the two companies will initially focus on serving the automotive market, providing it with the development expertise that the industry seems to be losing, while providing yet more opportunities for single-source supply.
Krauss-Maffei has been providing the polyurethanes market with the highest quality polyurethane processing equipment for several decades. In 2005, Krauss-Maffei opened their new foam mold and tooling facilities in Germany, with the goal of providing the polyurethanes market a single-source supplier with whom they could partner, from project inception through the final commissioning, as well as one on whom they could rely upon for life-long service support.
With respect to tooling, Krauss-Maffei has focused initially on working with processors in the automotive industry. In the future, and as additional experience is gained in tooling, Krauss-Maffei plans to expand their realm of tooling offerings into additional markets for which they currently build polyurethane processing equipment.
EPW has been providing tooling expertise to the automotive market for nearly four decades. Their prototyping and processing experience is extensive, having provided molds and tooling to such companies as JCI, Pilkington, and Jeld-wen. In addition, EPW also molds in-house for companies whose production requirements exceed their capacity, again always servicing the customer as best as possible.
The two companies have joined together, with Mark Haines, EPW's Partnering Manager, to work out of the newly opened Krauss-Maffei Detroit Competence Center. Mark has been with EPW for nearly two decades and is therefore able to offer extensive experience in developing your project tooling. In this way, the automotive industry and the general Detroit area will be afforded the most extensive availability of molding and prototyping equipment in the industry, making it even easier to access the technical expertise you need to get your project off the ground!
