Custom RIM Tooling
Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) is a low cost tooling process to achieve Polyurethane and Urethane plastic parts.
RIM molds can be used to make intricate designs with Class A surfaces. RIM Tooling is lower in cost than other plastic manufacturing methods. The wide variation of applications is why manufactures cannot ignore the potential of RIM Tooling.
Structural Reaction Injection Molding (SRIM) is an affordable way to greatly reduce the overall weight of large components. Large equipment panels benefit from the light weight and structural strength.
Reinforced Reaction Injection Molding (RRIM) uses filler materials to gain extra strenght, tensile elongation and dimensional stability. RRIM is an excellent choice when dimensional stability and mechanical properties are major engineering requirements.
Foam in Place (FIP) creates soft touch products. Depending upon the material, FIP is perfect for applications from automotive headrests, consumer seating to furniture arm rests. Foam in Place also can be more of a structural element like an automotive dashboard, decorative trim or furniture components.
Foam in Place is an area of manufacturing where EPW excels. The complexity of the mold and the requirements of the finished product requires advanced knowledge of all the possible ways to use FIP.
Glass Encapsulation Mold Tooling is beneficial to industries like consumer, commercial, telecommunications, construction, medical and others have been utilizing the benefits. Glass encapsulation can be used everywhere glass needs to act as a protectant against elements or as insulation to keep objects at a constant temperature.
Thermoform Tooling is also known as Vacuum Forming. Thermoforming is perfect for blister packs, clamshell packages, medical and other components that require a surface with no crevices or joints.
Thermoform molds can be machined from a variety of materials. Prototype molds can be designed and machined with very short lead times.
Skin on FIP – Spray Skin Tooling
We specialize in spraying Polyurethane or Urethane Skin on Foam in Place (FIP). Skin on FIP is used on products that need a cover yet also need to be completely secured.
Spray Skin Tooling is often used for seating in marine vessels, public seating on mass transit or other public venues as well as for medical seating and reclining devices.
We can build tooling fixtures for secondary operations after parts have been molded.
